Join GeoBus for an exciting day of CLPL for secondary geography and environmental science teachers.

See how you can run practical fieldwork to investigate succession on sand dunes with your students and also how you can use your local beach or outside space to model river channel processes.

Skills will include quantitative techniques for sampling plants along a transect through the dune system.  You will also have the opportunity to use a range of equipment to measure abiotic factors along the transect. Working in teams, you will build a model river channel in the sand, then observe erosion, transport and deposition as water moves through your river channel.

After the course, teachers will have access to the digital resources used and will have the opportunity to borrow some equipment to use with their students.
